Background

PlainEmissions is our editorial process for presenting the EU EDGAR v8.0 greenhouse-gas dataset (European Commission, Joint Research Centre) as plain country, sector, and ranking pages. Every live figure is an EDGAR row. Research and guide pages document how EDGAR methods differ from World Bank Climate Data, Climate TRACE, and UNFCCC inventories; those three sources are not currently loaded into the database.

This profile identifies the publisher responsible for every published extract, including tables above 1,000 rows when the corpus is that large. See the source rules in our methodology; this is a named publisher, not a synthetic collective.

PlainEmissions publishes reference material, data-driven pages, and explanatory tools. Use the source information, assumptions, limitations, and methodology shown on the individual page to decide whether it fits your situation.
